SCJUA Eligibility Rules

  1. Healthcare providers who live in South Carolina and practice 100% in the state are eligible.
  2. Healthcare providers who live in South Carolina but practice 100% outside the state are not eligible.
  3. Healthcare providers who live out of state but practice at least 80% within South Carolina are eligible.
  4. Healthcare providers who live in South Carolina and practice at least 80% in the state are eligible.
  5. Healthcare providers who have voluntarily surrendered their hospital privileges, or have had them denied, restricted, suspended, revoked, or subjected to a probationary period may not be eligible.
  6. Healthcare providers who have voluntarily surrendered their narcotics or medical license, or have had them denied, restricted, suspended, revoked, or subjected to a probationary period may not be eligible.
  7. Healthcare providers who have been denied a medical license or certification by a specialty board may not be eligible.
  8. Healthcare providers who have been non-cooperative on an existing claim may not be eligible.
